MyPantone is a cool and useful new app for the iPhone and iPod Touch. You can capture and extract colors from photos, play with different color combinations, cross-reference colors and the best part, share palettes via email, myPANTONE.com, Facebook, Twitter or directly with other myPANTONE app users. For more info go here and here. You can buy the app directly from the iTunes store and it’s only $9.99!

Because of my position as Advertising Manager, my background in Graphic Design and my use of an iPhone, I was intrigued with your Pantone app for the iPhone. I was ready to purchase it last week, but found out it didn’t have CMYK to PMS, and PMS to CMYK capablilies. This omission makes this app less appealing to our design team because many times we design in a CMYK format for our clients. When you update this app to correct this, let us know.

  2. Am taking an iPhone app development class as part of my computer science program in the fall.

Coming from the printing industry, the first thing I thought when I saw the camera on the iPhone, was “when can I use it as a print colour densitometer?” and the next was “when can I use it to measure the microns of a dot on a plate?”

Any thoughts regarding developing that or should I just go ahead?
