X-Rite ColorChecker Passport Software Update Released
by Brenda K. Hipsher – June 24th, 2010
by Brenda K. Hipsher
A software update is now available for ColorChecker Passport. Software v 1.0.2 includes a bug fix for using Passport software with Adobe® Photoshop® Lightroom® 3 when using “Export with Preset” allowing the dialogue box to appear for naming the profile being created. But there’s much more in this software update whether you’re using Lightroom® 3 or are still using Lightroom® 2 and when using the free standing ColorChecker Passport software instead of the Lightroom® plug-in.
The release notes indicate the following:
- Now fully compatible with Adobe® Photoshop® Lightroom® 3
- Improved color extraction for better profile accuracy
- Improved patch detection (eliminates errors in cases where the luminance of light-colored patches meets or exceeds the luminance of the white patch)
All you need to do is launch the ColorChecker Passport software and a dialogue box will appear indicating that the new v 1.0.2 is available and asking you to authorize the download. You will need to be in the software package not the Lightroom® plug-in to accomplish this update. (In the event you don’t get this automatic prompt for whatever reason simply choose “Help” and “Check for Updates…” from the top menu choices).
Download, install and relaunch either ColorChecker Passport software or Lightroom®. So if you haven’t tried Adobe® Photoshop® Lightroom® 3 download your free 30 day trial today after you open ColorChecker Passport software and get the brand new v 1.0.2 update. Get the benefit of improved color extraction and patch detection immediately!
