NEC Display Solutions, a leading provider of commercial LCD display and projector solutions, has chosen to bundle a customized X-Rite i1Display color calibration device along with their SpectraViewII™ software and SpectraView displays to ensure accurate color is delivered on every NEC professional desktop display.

“NEC’s selection of X-Rite’s i1Display technology for the new SpectraSensor Pro recognizes the high-quality and accurate color measurement that is built into the new X-Rite i1Display colorimeter,” said Art Marshall, Product Manager of Professional and Medical Desktop Displays at NEC Display Solutions. “It also recognizes the importance that NEC places on satisfying the needs of our most critical user base – the color professional.”

“As one of the industry leaders in visual display technology, NEC Display Solutions is now offering X-Rite’s unparalleled color measurement technology to its customers that demand high-quality and reliable display profiling,” said Jan Keller, X-Rite’s vice president, OEM Sales. “The addition of our custom i1Display solution to NEC’s SpectraView software provides color perfection for a wide range of NEC display users.”

This program allows NEC Display Solutions to better serve their customers’ needs by offering the customized X-Rite i1Display device as SpectraSensor Pro (MDSVSENSOR3), bundled with SpectraView software (SVII-PRO-KIT) and also as part of a SpectraView display.

In addition, the SpectraViewII software will support any retail version of the i1Display Pro, providing NEC customers with another option for accurate display calibration. A quick check of the “Read Me” file at the software download site gives details.

You can download the latest version of Spectra ViewII here: CLICK HERE FOR SpectraViewII v1.1.09.  Note that this software applies only to those users of NEC displays for which this software is appropriate. Consult www.necdisplay.com for more information.

Now you can use one device for your NEC monitors and other display devices in your studio or office. For those of you with other monitors and projectors the i1Display Pro is a great choice using i1Profiler software from X-Rite.

I currently own an i1 Display2. Can I use this on the NEC PA241w? Would there be a great difference with the Pro version?

    Thanks,

    Larry

    • Brenda K. Hipsher says:

the i1Display Pro is a completely redesigned instrument with lots of extras that were not available for Display2. If your i1Display 2 is operating properly it will certainly give you a good profile. However, some of the great features of i1Display Pro and may give you an edge. Note that you can purchase the retail version of i1Display Pro and it will work just fine with SpectraViewII software for NEC. When you purchase the retail version of the unit it is also functional with our i1Profiler software. This will allow you to calibrate and profile your NEC with SpectraViewII and use the same i1Display Pro with i1Profiler on your other computers.

    Hello. I need an information.
    1) Which difference is there between Nec SpectraSensor Pro and X-Rite i1 Display Pro (no brand version)? Is Nec Spectra Sensor just a branded i1 Display Pro or a different instrument?
    2) Does Nec Spectrasensor have plastic support to calibrate projector?
    3) Is Nec Spectra Sensor Pro compatible with X-Rite software i1 Profiler as a standard X-Rite i1 Display Pro? Do they have same firmware?

    • Brenda K. Hipsher says:

The basic difference in the NEC SpectraSensor Pro and the X-Rite i1Display Pro is that the i1Display Pro will work with i1Profiler software and SpectraVision II software while the NEC SpectraSensor only works with the SpectraVision II software.
Since SpectraView II software does not support projector profiling you would not have that option with the NEC SpectraSensor.
      Hope this helps!

Ok thanks. As internal hardware, are two instruments identical? Just the firmware is different?

  4. Neeraj says:

    Hi,

I have been using the i1 Display Pro with the i1Profiler to calibrate my monitor and WACOM Cintiq. I recently replaced my monitor with an NEC PA271W. Would I benefit by calibrating the NEC monitor with Spectraview II rather than i1Profiler ? In that case I will have to continue using i1 Profiler for the Cintiq. Are there any trade-offs / disadvantages that I should be aware of ?

    • Brenda K. Hipsher says:

      Neeraj,
It’s always a good thing to use the display manufacturer’s software because this software is often directly integrated into the calibration circuitry of the monitor. When you use SpectraView II the i1Display Pro is the measurement device so you get the same great quality optics and filters from the instrument. The i1Profiler software does have a significant amount of functionality in the ADC (Automatic Display Control) and can often take control of the calibration process (luminance and contrast). But generally it’s a good idea to use the manufacturer’s software when possible and available for best results.
And yes you carry on using our software with the Cintiq. The i1Profiler software does have a significant amount of functionality in the ADC (Automatic Display Control) and can often take control of the calibration process (luminance and contrast). Thanks for your comment and we’re glad you’re enjoying X-Rite i1Display Pro.

    hi,
yesterday i got my spectraview 241w and the i1 Display pro. I installed both profiler software, and gor a conflict.
so I removed all xrite software and was hoping that the specraview software would work fine. During the measurements | calibration proces i got a error.: illigal measurement data. please check connection to the instrument and reconnect again.calibrate the instrument again. what ever i do i get this message, anybody a solution for this. thanks kristel

    • Brenda K. Hipsher says:

      Kristel,
Be sure that your device is plugged into one of the USB ports on the back of a tower or into a powered USB hub. These connection errors can sometimes occur when there is insufficient power coming from the USB port that you’re using for the device.
Thanks for the question and let us know how it goes!
      Happy Holidays!

in addition to my other comment, I use the Eu spectraview profiler and not the spectraview Ii.
    thanks

The i1Display Pro is indicated as compatible with SpectraView II. Check the devices that are recognized by the software you are using in the “read me” file or other documentation with the software.
