Coloratti News | George Jardine

Coloratti George Jardine is an unusual guy. All you need to do is ready his bio on the X-Rite Coloratti site to see what I mean. He’s not your average bear. But what fun would that be? George is a rare and wonderful kind of guy who is a photographer, educator, workshop leader, software developer, and much more. He is a true believer in the value of color management for digital photographers.
Working on the team that developed Lightroom at Adobe George participated in interviewing thousands of working photographers. In doing these interviews he came to realize that a lack of understanding of color management is a roadblock to creative expression. And he also learned that mastery of the color workflow allows photographers to produce final work that is polished and professional. “The first step toward achieving that kind of professional-level work,” says George, “is understanding that good color management starts with the display, and follows all the way through to your prints and offset reproduction. There are no short-cuts, but we now have the tools to help make achieving good color infinitely easier than it was just a few, short years ago.”
George produces a tremendous number of video tutorials to get you up to speed and keep you a the top of your game. He’s just posted 16 brand new Lightroom 4 tutorials that Katrin Eismann tweeted she “can’t wait to dig into!” You’ll find these and many more tutorials and programs on George’s website Mulita.com.
In addition to his great educational content there is a lot to see on George’s website and blog including a Lightroom Workshop in Seattle March 10-11, 2012. That’s just around the corner so if you’re in that area or have a chance to be there check it out. CLICK HERE for a direct link to information. Enjoy George’s beautiful photography on his Photo Gallery. I know you’ll enjoy seeing photographs of Venice from the ICP workshop last year.
If you’re a fan of Italy you’ll be interested in a once in a lifetime opportunity for a 10 day photography workshop on Lake Como at the spectacular Villa Cipressi, a completely modernized Renaissance villa on the Lake, in Varenna, one hour north of Milan by train.
