2014 Flame Challenge Winning Video Explains “What is Color?”
by Jeff Lazell – June 11th, 2014
In case you were not aware, every year the Alan Alda Center For Communicating Science holds the “Flame Challenge” to test the scientist’s ability to communicate with the general public. They do this by posing basic, but surprisingly difficult questions and requesting that the answer’s be fit for an elementary school audience.
This year’s question was “What is color?”, so of course we paid extra attention to the results. The winning video as judged by thousands of 11 year-olds came from Dianna Cowern, a physicist who also goes by “Physics Girl” on Youtube. We loved it so much, we had to post it here for all color perfectionists to enjoy. Watch Dianna’s winning entry below and then head to her YouTube Channel for more.
