Shutterbug Reviews X-Rite i1Display Pro

 Shutterbug.com has just published a new review for X-Rite i1Display Pro.  Reviewer David B. Brooks has this to say about i1Display Pro, “The new colorimeter is a very flexible and convenient instrument design capable of measuring displays directly, as well as projected on a screen, plus ambient environmental illumination, all in one instrument.” David walks you through the software and shows you the profile he made in ColorSync at the end.

There’s one tiny detail in the text that is in error.  When discussing setting luminance levels David says that the luminance can only be set to particular options.  However, if you choose “custom” in the drop down menu you can choose any luminance level you like in in increments as small as one by using the slider or a direct number entry.

David also points out the display QA test that is available in the i1Profiler software in addition to Flare Correct and Ambient Light Smart Control.
