    Hi, I have a Eye-One Pro – Serial # 3.278-307311
Can you tell me what my status is as far as the upgrade?

  2. Rich says:

I see no mention of Eye-One Share v1.3. Will that be ported to Lion?
What is an alternative? I use it to get color samples into the computer.

    We have an eye-one device – Gretag-Macbeth part# 36.72.45.
We have Monaco Profiler Platinum 4.8.3 as well.
What exactly does this $500 offer other than ub-breaking compatibility with a $30 operating system upgrade?

I’m still running Leopard for the foreseeable future so it’s no big deal at this time.
However, I would like to get our ducks in a row if we ever jump to a new OS or have to get new Mac Pros..

Bringing color samples in is now accomplished with Pantone Color Manager which ships with i1Publish and is part of the upgrade package.
As for what the upgrade to i1Profiler gets you here’s a partial list:
Redesigned color engine that renders incredible upgrades in profile quality enhancing shadow detail, skin tones, smooth color transitions and more. Lot’s of options for creating and saving custom patch sets that can include a palette from a photograph, Pantone colors, captured spot colors, added to a standard patch set.
The ability to measure and record lighting conditions in display environments and modify existing profiles for printing work to be shown in particular lighting conditions.
The capacity to save and share workflows and data.
Printer profile quality assurance check with ColorChecker proof.
Enhanced monitor profiling capabilities including custom patch sets, display quality assurance module, trending information, uniformity check, custom contrast ratio, Ambient Light Smart Control, Flare Correct ™ and more.
ColorChecker Camera profiling software and mini-colorchecker target.
In short this is a full revision with many enhancements and new technology features.
Thanks for your questions and sorry it took me all day to get back to you.

  3. Rick Katz says:

What advantage is there for me to upgrade if I have Color Munki Photo, less than a year old.

    • Brenda K. Hipsher says:

ColorMunki Display is not an “upgrade” from ColorMunki Photo. While there are a couple of additional features in ColorMunki Display and it is a smaller colorimeter device your ColorMunki Photo continues to be sold and enjoyed by those who want an economical device for high quality monitor, projector, and printer profiles!
ColorMunki Display is a “display only” solution that calibrates and profiles monitors and projectors. ColorMunki Display is not a printer profiling solution.
