X-Rite Photokina Epilogue | Smiles and Photowalks
by Brenda K. Hipsher – September 27th, 2012
X-Rite at Photokina 2012 is in the books now and we’re still enjoying the great time we had in Cologne. Coloratti Jens Petersen did portraits of “smiles” everyday during the show. You can find these photos at X-Rite Photo on Facebook and on ColorMunki Smile on Facebook. These photos are just plain fun and celebrate the introduction of the new ColorMunki Smile, the amazingly simple answer to accurate color on your monitor. Jens also led our first photowalk walking through the historic downtown city center of Cologne around the beautiful and majestic Cologne Cathedral. The group met at the main entrance to the cathedral for a German language walk with Jens and X-Rite’s Thomas Kunz. It was a cool and windy day but shutters clicked right along and everyone had a great time.
The second photowalk was led by Coloratti Adrian Weinbrecht. This group met at the X-Rite stand in hall 4.1 and headed outside toward the Rhine river for another great time. Adrian shared a lot of good advice and instruction with the group and Thomas Kunz spoke about the importance of color management to insure that the colors captured in the file are displayed properly for editing and output beginning with ColorChecker Passport for camera calibration. The short video below gives you a little flavor of X-Rite photowalks at Photokina. Enjoy!
