Coloratti Stephen Johnson | “Photography and the Real World in the Digital Age”
by Brenda K. Hipsher – September 29th, 2013
Coloratti Stephen Johnson will present a very special program at the Adobe San Francisco offices at 601 Townsend, San Francisco, CA on October 10, 2013 from 7:00pm to 8:30pm PDT. The program is called “Photography and the Real World in the Digital Age” and concentrates on the tools that digital photography provides for capturing and printing images that reflect our own vision of the scene before us.
Stephen will use Adobe Photoshop to digitally “finish” photographs for delivery or printing. He will also talk about using X-Rite ColorChecker Passport and the absolute necessity of calibrating and profiling the monitor one uses for editing photos. Stephen will work through the process, step by step making clear to you his workflow for producing beautiful digital images.
Everyone who attends will have the opportunity to take home one of two X-Rite ColorChecker Passports donated by X-Rite Photo in support of the event. Stephen will be available for a live question and answer session after his presentation. We hope you will be able to attend so mark your calendar now. CLICK HERE to read more.
We found this OLD video that Stephen did for Betterlight scanning backs and Apple way back in 1998. And yes some of the equipment and processes are dated but surprisingly most of what he is talking about it still applicable 15 years later! (It’s stunning to think that 1998 is already a decade a half gone. But I digress…) Stephen talks about how what is possible in digital photography actually harkens back to some of the very earliest days of photographic history when coating and processing the images was done in the field. Enjoy!
