X-Rite Coloratti Photo of the Week – April

by Alexandra Ilie – April 25th, 2019

April is coming to an end, which means it’s time to find out more about the Coloratti images we featured on our Facebook and Twitter accounts this month. In April, we shared photos from our Coloratti:  Ross Grieve, George Jardine, and Frank Doorhof.

  1. Ross Grieve

We met with Coloratti Ross Grieve last month at The Photography Show in Birmingham, the UK’s biggest photography event of the year.

He shared with us this dramatic photo he took using the new Panasonic Lumix S1:

“I really wanted to show how beautiful the new Lumix S1 colours are and I managed to do so with the help of the X-Rite’s Color Checker Passport Photo”.

Ross Grieve was born in New Zeeland and has been mastering his art for over 20 years. Ross now resides in the beautiful rolling countryside of Pembrokeshire in Wales. An accomplished photographer who has won many awards including UK Pet Photographer and Welsh Master Fashion & Portrait Photographer, he has travelled to far-flung parts around the world on assignments.

Our Coloratti is currently looking for extraordinary people to photograph, people with fantastic stories. If you think you would be suitable or know someone, please get in touch with Ross! .  Suitable people will receive a free 30 min studio session and an image for you to use on social media. 1. George Jardine

Coloratti George Jardine is a rare and wonderful kind of guy who is a photographer, educator, workshop leader, software developer, and much more.  He is a true believer in the value of colour management for digital photographers.

Working on the team that developed Lightroom at Adobe George participated in interviewing thousands of working photographers.  In doing these interviews he came to realise that a lack of understanding of colour management is a roadblock to creative expression.

“As a colour perfectionist, I rely on a calibrated workflow because my first goal is always accuracy. If you look with fresh eyes, you’ll always find that the true colours provided by nature are the most interesting”.
